To the instructor and student:

This workbook is intended to serve two purposes in one simple step: practice in any form of penmanship and memorization of Bible verses. Each assignment should take no more than approximately 5 - 10 minutes each day.

While these are assigned to a school grade level to help instructors with selection, each workbook may be used for multiple ages. Keep in mind that the subjects and verses do increase in complication and length as the levels increase. 

All verses are from the King James Version of the Bible. The language of the KJV will be more easily understood when learned from an early age and/or when studied in small segments. The verses are in their original form with a few very minor changes in punctuation and capitalization. While some of the capitalizations may seem awkward, they do provide extra practice with capital letters.

Directions: Space is provided for the student to copy the verse once each day beginning on Monday in the form of print or cursive he or she needs to practice. If necessary, provide a letter guide for reference. Check the work for neatness and accuracy. The student is to recite the verse on Friday for a grade. Previous verses in the same six-week unit may also be recited on Friday for extra credit points or for an additional grade. There are six topics, or units, with six verses each. Copying each verse for one week provides enough material for a school year of 180 days. If extra lined pages are needed, the last page in the workbook may be used to make copies. The pages with each unit’s verses as well as the art pages are blank on the back side so they can be removed for display, further studies, or other use.

For variation, instruct the student to:

o   edit the verse for punctuation.

o   find the verse in another version and compare.

o   illustrate the verse for an art grade.
